favorite beers

Presenting my 3 favorite beers from breweries located here in beautiful Portland. This list does not include seasonals or one-offs, these are my "go to" beers... finely crafted and readily available.
So, on that note, here we go...

#3 - Breakside Brewery - Dry Stout. ~This Irish-style Stout has great dark flavor and full body without feeling as heavy as a traditional stout such a Guinness. Roasted malts and chocolate create a pleasing flavor profile and at 4.4% ABV, you can enjoy more than one.

#2 - Burnside Brewing Co. - Oatmeal Pale Ale ~A traditional American style Pale Ale...with a twist. A crisp beer full of great hop flavor enhanced by the addition of rolled oats to create a wonderful body and mouth feel. All the flavor of a Pale Ale with a creamy finish. The 5.6% ABV keeps the Oatmeal Pale Ale in the session range for most.

And now, at numero uno...

#1 - Lompoc Brewing - C-Note Imperial Pale Ale  ~ OK, I'll admit it, while the other beers on this list are certainly delicious, I'm a hop-head at heart! And for myself and others like me, there are few beers in Portland that satisfy like C-Note! Brewed with the seven "C" hops (Crystal, Cluster, Cascade, Chinook, Centennial, Columbus and Challenger), and coming in at 100 IBUs, C-Note has an amazing complexity of character and hop bite that pushes it to the top of my list. With a 6.9% ABV, you may want to enjoy this one in moderation. Or not.
