Party Add-Ons

These are great accompaniments to any of our platters. They are also delicious stand-alone lite bites.

PARTY NUTS
2 cups  

Candied Nuts & Spiced Nuts are a classic party food and our recipe is delicious. They're perfect with salads, desserts, or for a snack and we really consider them a "must have" addition to your party platter. We've listed our favorite mixes but we can use a mix of your choice.

LEMON-PEPPER RICOTTA SPREAD 


A bright, creamy, zesty Spread... the perfect texture for Homemade Pizza, Bread, or Crackers. It's wonderful tossed with warm pasta. And with enough notice, I can start with Homemade Ricotta Cheese. It's SO worth it!

CLASSIC PESTO  

Basil & Pinenuts processed with Parmesan & Olive Oil... a family favorite in our house. It's perfect tossed with warm pasta, the aroma is amazing. It's also great on breads and crackers. Add a bit of cream cheese for a wonderful dip for fresh cut vegetables. Make a simple healthy meal by boiling your choice of pasta with Kosher salt. Toss in fresh broccoli heads (a bag of frozen broccoli works just as well) just before the pasta is done. Drain saving a bit of the cooking liquid. Then, toss the pasta & broccoli with pesto. Add the reserved liquid to create a bright green, delicious bowl of comfort food. Even kids Love this one.

FIG CHUTNEY

This is seriously SO good. The recipe came from my dear friend & culinary instructor, Brooke Burgess at The Main Course. It's a natural to pair with cheeses, in fact, I can't even think of a cheese for which it isn't a perfect compliment.
*For a grown up Grilled Cheese Sandwich try Artisan Bread with a smear of Fig & Red Onion Compote, Gruyere Cheese, and a sprinkling of crushed Candied or Spiced Nuts. Seriously. It's to die for. 

HOOD RIVER APPLE CHUTNEY
Tart Apples & Red Onion with a twist of Lemon


A spin off from the Fig & Red Onion Chutney. I experimented with some ingredients from my fruit bowl one afternoon and came up with this mouthwatering delight. It's a natural with cheeses but really it's more like grown up apple sauce. I've been known to eat it right out of the container and call it lunch.

CRANBERRY-GINGER CHUTNEY


Cranberries & Ginger gently simmered for several hours to create the perfect balance of sweet & tart with a hint of spice... a lovely compliment to your Holiday menu. Next to the stuffing on Thanksgiving, this was my favorite thing!


PICKLED RED ONIONS  


These are great with cheese and crackers, breads and spreads. But, they are also a lovely addition to a roast beef or turkey sandwich.



GARDEN ICE BOX PICKLES

Pickled Cucumbers, Cherry Tomatoes, & Onions


A twist on your basic dill pickle. In the South, these lovelies would be set out for nearly every meal and just for snacking on the side. They are ultra tart and it's nearly impossible to have only one bite. We've gone thru an entire pint jar as an after school snack.


WARM ARTICHOKE DIP 

There are a thousand recipes for Spinach-Artichoke Dip. But, we like this simple Artichoke only experience the best. It's a recipe that's been in our family for 30 years. There's no need to mess with this creamy perfection. Artichokes hearts are the star and every bite is a taste of cheesy comfort. Pair it with Tortilla Chips and Homemade Salsa or a simple Baguette. For a fancy treat, add endive leaves to your pairings. It warms great in the microwave or on the stove.

WARM ROSEMARY OLIVES 
A mix of Olives, marinated & warmed with fresh Rosemary

People Love Olives. They're the perfect lite bite addition to any platter and just like Party Nuts, they're a classic. I found this recipe in a Real Simple magazine years ago and indeed they are simple yet delicious. The lovely fragrance of Rosemary is soothing and sets the tone for a wonderful evening. They come wrapped ready to pop right in your oven.
